Sitting watching the kids play frisbee at the park, this little future soccer player began going around the frisbee circle looking for someone to play with…such a little cutie!

A really quick little edit just to tickle my funny bone!
Anyone else feeling squirrelly today?

The cold weather has come on with a fierceness this year that has sent us all hiding within….a perfect time to look over the hundreds of photos I’ve taken this year!
This one is from Comfest here in Columbus, Ohio.  I was thinking about how each set of photos has specific ones that I had looked for after a day out shooting…but those albums also have many pleasant surprises in store when I go back over them with fresh eyes.
I remember this guy, just sort of in his own little happy place.  He’s dancing to the sounds of music that seem to drift around us like a warm summer breeze.

This is a ‘family portrait’…while it is only a partial portrait, it is also only part of my family.  I thought it was kinda cool to do just feet.  I like how by only seeing the feet we can somehow connect those that we see, with those in our minds.  I’ve been working large multiples lately, this is just one avenue I’ve been pursuing.

Tis the season…for seeing the wonder in a childs eye’s over some of the simple things in life.

I shoot 1000’s of photographs monthly and can’t alway sort & organize them right away.  Because of this, there becomes this distance from the set to where when I do sort them, I’m not so much looking for that shot I was going for: but rather the one that had caught my eye for reasons I couldn’t quite grasp when I took it.
This is one of those shots…I’ve been gazing into the layers of this one and can now see the why of it. So many layers, so many juxtapositions of time, culture, shape & pattern, society, urban life and natures determination not to give in…the list goes on and on.
Or perhaps I think too much!

I have no idea who these people are…I often walk High Street for miles on nice days with my camera.  I have such a curiosity about people and have no hesitation in asking the curious questions and for a photo to accompany my memory of them.
When I saw this couple, the first thing that came to mind…they were trying for a boy.  So I asked about the baby…yep, another girl.  They had hoped that the fourth time would give them a boy, but instead…as the Daddy sighed & said, “…four girls.”
Beautiful family!

I have to say…no matter how the times may change…I guess I’ll always be forced to use the backdoor!
I found this sign in a shop window just a few blocks from where I live…and in all honesty…it made me smile.

This is Dozer…my little sidekick.  Dozer was left tied to a tree with no food or water and left to die when his owners moved away.  He was rescued and put into foster care where I found him, still quite sickly.  He was extremely abused, including the fact that the pads of his feet were literally melted off from hot pavement.
I’ve had this little guy for 5 years now…he is now happy, healthy and loved.
If you’re considering a pup…please consider adopting…there are so many little sidekicks waiting for someone to love…and you might just save a life.

My older brother was diagnosed with advanced bladder cancer a few months ago…needless to say, this has rocked my world inside out.  I went to see him yesterday (its a 3 hour drive both ways) and began shooting photos like I always do…when everything I saw began to take me to a place with him.
This is a shot of my youngest sons hands playing Uncle Dan’s piano.  My brother is a phenomenal self taught musician, and his passion for it exudes onto everyone around him….as we pulled away from his house in the dark & rain…my son looked back as Uncle Dan waved goodbye and said, “I miss him already…”
Cancer really sucks people…if you’ve had it, or been close to someone who has, that’s all I need to say.  If you haven’t…I hope you never do.

It appears as if my activity bar has flatlined…could be I haven’t posted…or what I have lately hasn’t tickled anyone’s fancy….hmmmm…such a fast paced world this is…guess I better step it up a bit!

Columbus Ohio puts on Comfest every summer.  Its a 3 day festival with tons of free live concerts going on nonstop, tons of food and activity…its a great time.  I like to call it the hippie fest…everyone fits in, its the largest group of laid back people I’ve ever seen…really awesome.
I must of shot over 2000 images that weekend and met just as many fascinating people!
